5th Annual VFFC Harvest Festival

  2. 5th Annual VFFC Harvest Festival

Tickets are available now for the 5th Annual VFFC Harvest Festival.
Bring the whole family to this celebration of the Vermont Farmers Food Center, and all it does to promote the agrarian and economic culture in Rutland County. There will be an incredible meal, made from ingredients from local farms and served Family Style. This is the big yearly fundraiser for the VFFC, which is also home to the Winter Farmers Market and several other programs designed to benefit the Rutland community.
These include....
WINTER FARMERS MARKET - generates more than $2 million in annual economic activity for 100+ local farm families and entrepreneurs and brings thousands into downtown Rutland each Saturday.
• FARMACY PROGRAM - works with local doctors to link more than 150+members (families and individuals) at risk of chronic disease to the rich, robust healthy world of good food, community programming and education. Food distributed is purchased from local, start-up organic farm families.
• FARM BASED EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING CENTER - partners with Rutland City Public Schools and utilizes the Rotary International Green House for hands-on experiential learning related to local produce and nutrition. We recently have worked with more than 400+ K-12 learners.
• LEARNING KITCHEN - serves as an incubator for 6 emerging food-based businesses and multiple educational-based groups, e.g. Hunger Council, NeighborWorks, Fill the Freezer, etc. teaching basic culinary skills to underserved populations using local produce.
• DOWNTOWN GATEWAY PROJECT - has turned one of four key, strategic entrance points into Downtown Rutland from blight to vibrancy. Through its new and expanded lawn, landscaped parking area, signage, community gardens, bocce field, “Carving Studio” marble statues, solar panels and more, VFFC has attracted thousands of tourists to downtown.

Click on the link for tickets, and we will see you on September 22nd from 3 pm - 6 pm at the Vermont Farmers Food Center's 5th Annual Harvest Fest.... Farmers Hall, 251 West Street in Rutland.

Our mission is to use collaboration, creativity, and ingenuity to create a regional economic climate conducive to business growth by recruiting talent and businesses of all kinds, growing and retaining employers, while creating a bridge to community and cultural organizations which promote healthy and vibrant neighborhoods and enhance the quality of life in Rutland County.

How Can CEDRR Help You?

The CEDRR Board recognizes that cultural diversity plays a key role in economic growth, as people from diverse backgrounds bring language skills, unique experiences, new ways of thinking, innovative ideas and creative solutions to difficult problems. Therefore, the CEDRR Board condemns racism and welcomes all persons, regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, gender identity or expression, age, or disability, and supports the protection of these classes. As an organization, we condemn discrimination in all of its forms and commit to fair and equal treatment of everyone in the communities we serve.
