DESCRIPTION:The Champlain Philharmonic will perform its Spring Concert Series conducted by Matt LaRocca on Saturday\, March 28\, 7:30 PM\, at Town Hall Theater in Middlebury and Sunday\, March 29\, 4:00 PM at Grace Congregational Church in Rutland. The concert will feature a diverse selection of works\, beginning with Fanfare by Vermont composer Erik Nielsen\; Gwyneth Walker's Let America Be America Again\, a powerful musical setting of the Langston Hughes poem featuring narrator Al Wakefield\; select movements from Lee Johnson's Dead Symphony No. 6\, a tribute to the music of the Grateful Dead\; and concluding with Dvor k's Symphony No. 9 ("From the New World"). Tickets are $15 for General Admission\, $10 for Seniors (60+)\, and $5 for Students. Tickets are available for purchase in advance or at the door for both performances.
