DESCRIPTION:Calling all Killington residents\, visitors\, and businesses. Our Independence Day celebration is back! There will be a parade\, fireman's BBQ\, games\, fireworks and more. This event is sponsored by the Killington Fire Department\, Killington Parks and Recreation\, Sherburne Memorial Library\, Killington Search and Rescue\, and the Killington Transfer Station. Please check the Killington Rec website for any updates regarding this event.\n\nSchedule:\n\n9:00 AM - Friends of the Library Book Sale\n\n10:00 AM - Killington 4th of July Parade (River Road)\n\n11:00 AM - Johnson Rec Center opens for public swim with music by DJ Evan Foley\n\n11:30 AM - Killington Fire and Rescue BBQ\n\n1:30 PM - Kids Field Games at soccer field. No registration required.\n\n3:30 PM - Belly Flop Contest\n\n7:00 PM - Live Music by Summit Pond Quartet\n\n9:00 PM - Fireworks show at Johnson Recreation Fields\n\nParade\n\nParticipation in the parade is greatly encouraged. Here are the ways you can get involved:\n\nEnter a float into the parade. Gather friends\, your organization or business. All floats must be family friendly\, but creativity and imagination are strongly encouraged.\n\nThe theme for this year's parade is "50 Years of Johnson Recreation Center". Participants are encouraged to decorate their floats using their interpretation of this theme!\n\nParticipants are asked to be in their lineup spot by 9:55 a.m. Participants can arrive starting at 9:00 a.m. to make any final preparations.\n\nParticipate in the Kid's Decorated Bike portion of the parade. Children 12 years and younger can bring their patriotically decorated bikes and ride together in the parade. Parents of very young children may walk with their biker.\n\nRegister your club or business and walk in the parade. This option is excellent for groups who do not want to create a float.\n\nRESTRICTIONS:\n\nNo water toys or balloons of any type are to be thrown on the parade route.\n\nNo alcoholic beverages of any kind allowed during the parade.\n\nNo brochures or literature handouts.\n\nPlease register in advance using the program link below. If you have not registered in advance\, you are still welcome to join!
