Participation in the parade is greatly encouraged. Here are the ways you can get involved:
- Enter a float into the parade. Gather friends, your organization or business. All floats must be family friendly, but creativity and imagination are strongly encouraged.
- Participate in the Kid's Decorated Bike portion of the parade. Children 12 years and younger can bring their patriotically decorated bikes and ride together in the parade. Parents of very young children may walk with their biker.
- Register your club or business and walk in the parade. This option is excellent for groups who do not want to create a float.
- Participants are asked to meet at the River Road Cemetery at 9:00 AM.
RESTRICTIONS:
- No water toys or balloons of any type are to be thrown on the parade route.
- No alcoholic beverages of any kind allowed during the parade.
- No brochures or literature handouts.
- Please register by Wednesday, June 26th using the program links below. If you have not registered in advance, you are still welcome to join!
Fireman's Barbecue:
Come support Killington Fire and Rescue with their annual barbecue held underneath the pavilion. This annual will include burgers, hot dogs, veggie burgers and sides.
Killington Fire and Rescue is asking for small side dishes to be donated. These dishes would include; chips, salads of any kind and desserts. Additional information with regards to drop-off location will be provided closer to the event date—check back on the Killington Rec website by clicking here.
Fireman's Raffle:
There will be a 50/50 raffle as well as other items.
Volunteers:
We are in need of volunteers for parade support, food service, set up, and break down. Please reach out to recdirector@killingtontown.com if you are interested.
Parking:
Due to potential traffic flow issues, parking will be confined to one side of River Road. Carpooling is encouraged.
Rain Date:
If inclement weather occurs, events will be hosted on July 5th.
Fireworks:
The fireworks display begins at sundown, at approximately 9:30 PM. Bring a chair or blanket to the Johnson Recreation Center soccer fields at 2782 River Road.

How Can CEDRR Help You?

The CEDRR Board recognizes that cultural diversity plays a key role in economic growth, as people from diverse backgrounds bring language skills, unique experiences, new ways of thinking, innovative ideas and creative solutions to difficult problems. Therefore, the CEDRR Board condemns racism and welcomes all persons, regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, gender identity or expression, age, or disability, and supports the protection of these classes. As an organization, we condemn discrimination in all of its forms and commit to fair and equal treatment of everyone in the communities we serve.
