Help Men & Boys Develop Connections!

Funding provided by The Bowse Health Trust
Space provided by the Rutland City Boys & Girls Club

Men's isolation & loneliness is rising at an alarming rate: The percentage of men with no close friends surged from just 3% in 1990 to 15% in 2021 - a staggering fivefold increase. (American Institute for Boys & Men: https://aibm.org)

Ages 14+, and all genders are welcome.
Men & boys are particularly encouraged to attend to lead this work from your own experiences!

Thursday, Jan. 22 | 6:45 - 9PM
Watch the Gone Guys Film and discuss, explore, and reflect on the film's significance.

Thursday, Jan. 29 | 6:45 - 9PM
Continue the conversation and dive deeper into the topics of disconnection, isolation, and loneliness. Collaborate on solutions that support men and boys in our community.

Feb/March TBD | Follow-Up with UVM Men & Masculinities Program's Guest Facilitators!
Create next action steps to build meaningful connection and reduce and heal isolation and loneliness in our community.

RSVP: Email Malik at mhines@rutlandbgclub.org

The loneliness epidemic is impacting men and boys and that is rippling outwards to affect all of us and our communities. Acknowledging this does not diminish the significant inequity women and LGBTQ+ identifying folks are currently experiencing. We can hold both truths at the same time. By coming together to face the loneliness epidemic in all its impacts, we can empower each other and improve the lives of everyone, including future generations!

Our mission is to use collaboration, creativity, and ingenuity to create a regional economic climate conducive to business growth by recruiting talent and businesses of all kinds, growing and retaining employers, while creating a bridge to community and cultural organizations which promote healthy and vibrant neighborhoods and enhance the quality of life in Rutland County.

How Can CEDRR Help You?

The CEDRR Board recognizes that cultural diversity plays a key role in economic growth, as people from diverse backgrounds bring language skills, unique experiences, new ways of thinking, innovative ideas and creative solutions to difficult problems. Therefore, the CEDRR Board condemns racism and welcomes all persons, regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, gender identity or expression, age, or disability, and supports the protection of these classes. As an organization, we condemn discrimination in all of its forms and commit to fair and equal treatment of everyone in the communities we serve.
