Nothing says “The holidays are here!” like a good old-fashioned tree lighting! Join us in Depot Park for Santa's arrival by firetruck at 6 PM to light the Downtown Rutland Christmas Tree.
Beginning at 5:30 PM, grab a free cup of hot cocoa from Mission City Church or coffee sample and donuts from Dunkin Donuts and enjoy a performance of holiday songs from the Rutland High School choir while the mayor of Rutland City speaks and Santa lights the tree. From 5-7 PM, enjoy family-friendly fun at Wonderfeet Kids’ Museum, where kids will have a chance to decorate their own free holiday ornament, made in Rutland at The MINT Makerspace, before or after the tree lighting!
The first 200 attendees will receive free holiday light specs and candy canes! Afterwards, take a walk around Downtown Rutland to admire the festively decorated shop windows.
Want to extend the fun even further? Catch a 3 PM or 7 PM showing of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical at Paramount Theatre!
