Mount Independence-Hubbardton Military Road Auto Tour
Maj. Gen. Horatio Gates ordered the construction of the Mount Independence-Hubbardton Military Road 250 years ago on September 7, 1776. Start the tour at the Mount Independence State Historic Site with a special orientation, dramatic reading of the order, and viewing the start of the road. Then travel in your own car to stops along the way, finishing at Hubbardton Battlefield State Historic Site.
