Soldiers Atop the Mount Living History Weekend at Mt Independence
10:00 AM to 5:00 PM Saturday; 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM Sunday, military road auto tour starts at 1:00 PM, site open through 5:00 PM, $9.00 adults, $1.00 ages 6 – 16, under 6 free.
Reenactors honor the 250th anniversary of the 1776 building and garrisoning of Mount Independence during this living history weekend.
Saturday’s popular interactive Baldwin Trail Walkabout, 10:30 to 1:30, features experts at trail stations bringing history to life. Demos of military tactics, skills, and camp life. Annual reading of Declaration of Independence, food, children’s activities, Sunday includes the October 20, 1776, oration given on Mount Independence.
