Love our woods? Can you ID our “most wanted” invasive plants? Do you know how to stop them? Invasive plants are more than just a nuisance — they’re quietly transforming our forests, streams, backyards, and favorite recreation spots. But with the right knowledge, you can help stop them in their tracks. Join this FREE, hands-on workshop and field walk with County Forester Mark Raishart and the Chittenden Energy and Climate Committee.
What to expect:
• A short and engaging presentation on invasive plant species
• A guided field walk through local forest trails
• Practical tips for plant ID, impact awareness, and management
• A chance to connect with nature and your community
• FREE Lunch – come hungry for knowledge and a good meal!
• Native plant giveaway and prize drawing entry for the Chittenden Energy Challenge Event is rain or shine; wear sturdy shoes and dress for the weather.
All ages welcome.
This event is part of the Chittenden Energy Challenge. This year, we're challenging our neighbors to take and share 500 energy and climate actions, no matter how big or small. Every action earns you an entry in our monthly and grand prize drawings for great energy-saving prizes like an electric lawn mower, air purifier, home energy audit, electric power tools, and more! Open to residents of Chittenden and beyond.
