For over twenty years Vermont Federal Credit Union has been granting scholarships to deserving students in our communities. Vermont Federal Credit Union is offering five educational scholarships in the amount of $2,000 each for the 2026-2027 school year:

(2) $2,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors.
(3) $2,000 scholarships to those already enrolled in a college, trade school, or university or having been out of high school for more than one year.

Scholarships of $2,000 each will be awarded to four deserving students. To apply, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be accepted to or enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program at a college, trade school, or university (minimum 12-credit semester or full-time equivalent).
  • Studies must begin within one year of receiving the award (Fall 2026 or Spring 2027).
  • Be a Vermont Federal Credit Union Member. Not a member? Those who live, work, worship or attend school anywhere in Vermont can become a member. Join by April 24th, 2026 to be eligible.
  • Immediate family members of Vermont Federal employees and Board members are not eligible.
Entry requirements include:
  1. Complete Vermont Federal application - applications must be submitted online at www.vermontfederal.org/scholarships
  2. A copy of applicant's GED or high school transcript.
  3. A copy of the student's letter of acceptance from the college, trade school, or university.  If college, trade school, or university is not determined at the time the application is due, the applicant must send all potential college, trade school, or university acceptance letters and notify Scholarship Coordinator as soon as the school is selected.*
     
    *College, trade school, or university of choice does not have to be a Vermont institution
The application must be completed with all supporting documentation mailed to the Scholarship Committee by April 24, 2026. Any packages postmarked with a date after April 24th, 2026 will NOT be considered.
