Rutland, Vt – Chamber & Economic Development of the Rutland Region (CEDRR) is pleased to launch the Growing Business Series, a virtual workshop series for the Rutland business community. This is an opportunity to hear from various local leaders on topics recommended by members, as well as relevant topics in response to today’s current state.

After a recent survey conducted by CEDRR to its membership, staff identified technical assistance as one of the top priorities for business support and correlated a list of recommendations for business members with varying topics that would be beneficial to them currently.

“Our priority is to provide new and innovative ways to bring resources to our business community and we are pleased to be offering technical assistance on a regular basis with topics as they relate to the current demands,” said Chamber & Economic Development of the Rutland Region Executive Director Lyle Jepson. “Our community has individuals with incredible talents and skillsets.  The Growing Business Series allows us to share their expertise with our business community.”

The virtual series will begin on Wednesday, November 4th from 12 – 1 p.m. and will continue to take place the first and third Wednesday of each month going forward. The first workshop presenter will be Nancy Shuttleworth, Business Advisor for the Vermont Small Business Development Center (VtSBDC) who will speak on the available resources of business advising and tools for businesses during these challenging times.
Future topics include, but are not limited to, avoiding fraud while working remotely, available funding opportunities locally, an overview of the Vermont Procurement Technical Assistance Center (VT PTAC), and investment opportunities. Businesses that wish to learn more about specific topics and individuals interested in providing their expertise as a presenter are encouraged to fill out the Growing Business Series Feedback Forms at https://rutlandvermont.com/growing-business-series/.
