RUTLAND, VT — Rutland Regional Medical Center recently celebrated the achievements of nine nurses during the RRMC Clinical Advancement Program (CAP) ceremony. All nine nurses achieved the highest level of advancement possible at RRMC (Level 4). The CAP program at RRMC promotes nursing excellence, our RRMC nursing professional practice model and American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Magnet principles. In addition to submitting evidence of work in professional organizations, leadership activities, teaching, precepting, professional development, role expertise, national certification and innovation, these nurses were required to complete a project, develop a poster presentation and deliver that presentation at the ceremony.
The nine nurses recognized in the November ceremony are: Aimee Schulte, MSN, RN, PCCN; Carole “Gert” Mayes, PhD, RN, NPD-BC, CNOR; Frederick Garrow, MSN, RN, RN-BC, NE-BC; Heather McRae, MSN-ED, RN, PCCN, MedSurg-BC, NPD-BC; Julianna Traverse, BSN, RN, MedSurg-BC; Jennifer Wasilauskas, DNP, RN, CNOR, ONC; Karen DeNicola, BSN, RN, CPHQ; Samantha Helinski, MSN, RN, CWOCN, CCCTM; and Sharon Decato, BSN, RN, CCM. Each recipient was presented with their respective Certificate of Achievement during a presentation by Kelly Watson, Chief Nursing Officer, and other hospital leaders.
“This is a special day for nursing and for all of us at RRMC. These celebrations reflect our deep gratitude and admiration for the dedication, empathy, and excellence that our nurses demonstrate,” stated Chief Nursing Officer Kelly Watson. “Their drive to continuously improve and increase their professional knowledge is inspiring.”
