The Carving Studio and Sculpture Center Names Jonny Farrow as New Executive Director
WEST RUTLAND, VT – The Board of Trustees of The Carving Studio and Sculpture Center (CSCC) is proud to announce the appointment of Jonny Farrow as the organization’s new Executive Director, effective July 1, 2026.Jonny joins the Center at a pivotal moment in its history, as the organization continues to expand its programs, leadership in hands-on education, academic and professional partnerships while preserving the unique legacy of the West Rutland marble quarries. As a contemporary sculptor with a background as an Assistant Professor at Troy University and a proven track record of building educational programs including New York University’s Adu Dhabi Sculpture MFA, Jonny is poised to lead the Carving Studio into its next chapter of growth and innovation.

Among the highlights of Jonny’s career prior to joining The Carving Studio and Sculpture Center, include his service as the Provost appointed committee member to develop an Honors College at Troy University. His appointment follows an extensive search to find a leader capable of balancing our historic roots with a visionary approach to arts education and community engagement.

The community is invited to a welcome reception for the new Executive Director on June 6 from 5pm -7pm held at The Carving Studio and Sculpture Center. This event will also celebrate the opening of our CSSC Instructor’s Exhibition which will run through July.

Located on the site of the historic West Rutland marble quarries, the Center offers specialized workshops in stone carving, metal, wood, and mixed media. Through its world-renowned Artist-in-Residence program and public art initiatives, CSCC fosters a unique intersection of industrial history and contemporary artistic innovation.
