  2. Otter Valley Career Day

Brandon, VT — Otter Valley Union High School is pleased to announce the upcoming Third Annual Otter Valley Career Day, taking place on Friday, March 13, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The district is currently seeking participation from local businesses, educational institutions, training programs, and community partners to help provide students with meaningful exposure to career pathways and postsecondary opportunities.

Over the past two years, Career Day has become a highly impactful experience for Otter Valley students, thanks to the many professionals who have generously contributed their time, expertise, and enthusiasm. As the district continues its efforts to prepare students for success in an increasingly competitive workforce, partnerships with community members and industry leaders remain essential.

This year’s Career Day will feature three key components. Community partners may participate in any or all of the following:

Middle School Career Sessions
Presenters share their background, training, and day-to-day work with groups of middle school students. Sessions are delivered alongside one or two professionals in the same field. Hands-on activities and demonstrations are strongly encouraged, as they have proven to be particularly engaging for students. Four 30-minute sessions will be held.

Pathways Fair (Grades 10–12)
From 10:00–11:00 AM, high school students will meet with colleges, training programs, apprenticeship providers, employers, and other organizations to explore postsecondary options and career pathways.

Financial Reality Fair (Grade 9)
New for 2026, the Financial Reality Fair will introduce ninth-grade students to real-world budgeting and personal finance concepts through a guided simulation. Volunteers are needed to assist students as they work through financial decision-making scenarios.

Participants from any organization are welcome to take part in one or more components of the day. To assist with planning, registrants are asked to complete the corresponding sign-up form on the OV website for each activity they wish to join. Snacks and lunch will be provided as a gesture of appreciation for the community’s support.
