Running Scared 5K

Join the Rutland Rec Center for the Running Scared 5K, our annual fun run where costumes are highly encouraged! Kids 12 and under participate for free, and all registration fees support the Halloween Parade production. The race kicks off at 9 AM on October 25, starting and finishing at Giorgetti Park. The stroller-friendly route follows the Creek Path to Meadow Street and back — perfect for families, walkers, and runners alike.

Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each age division, along with prizes for best costumes. Please note: there are no road closures for this event, and traffic support will end at 10 AM.

Enjoy music, games, and giveaways while cheering on our costumed runners! The Award Ceremony for race winners and best costumes will take place at 10:00 AM.
